It’s been a bad couple of weeks for this hack cook – I’ve been wholly unmotivated and uninspired for whatever reason. Post vacation let-down, dog days of summer, who knows. Part of it is I’ve been spending more time on work, and I’ve not been very good about keeping the rest of my life organized around it and then there is the “OMG, it’s hot and I don’t wanna roast in the kitchen” August aspect as well.
But, we’ve had a string of some cooler days and my brain is back on food. And I even have a few ideas. :) Stay tuned.

aka, Food Porn. This is a LiveJournal community with tons of great recipes, photographs and cooking information. Definitely worth the time to at least take a look.
Chefs Like Me! is also a LJ community that just started up, but looks to be a lot of fun. Right now it’s a lot of introductions, but they’ve also got the first “food of the week” out there for research & discussion, and a challenge: pies. Since it’s brand new, you never know where it may end up, but I really think it’s got a lot of potential to be a fun forum.
Hell’s Kitchen
Saturday, August 11th, 2007Took one more episode and I was full on hooked. Today Fox Reality is showing one of the other seasons and of course, TiVo is getting it all for me and I’ll be watching like an addict.
I’ll admit I was full on pissed when I realized last week that they were stretching the finale out into 2 episodes.
Can’t wait to see who wins it, though I will fully admit I am pulling for our hometown guy, Rock.
